Why you ask -- To improve our quality of life as a couple, To bring us closer and allow us to participate more in the activities of our kids and families.

Rhonda has reached her goal weight of 125 lbs March of '08. Yeah for her !!!
Larry has lost 56 lbs so far.

We have not stopped since challenge ended in summer of '08.. We shall strive onwards as we have been.
I am grateful to The Biggest Loser for this chance to change our futures. We have and continue to do so.

* I'm getting more fit and healthier, much more so than over a year ago.
I do not wish to blame my disablity for my lack of weight progress as I am progressing greatly in other areas. :)

Update Jan '09

9Much happened during the month of december of '08.
I failed to keep up the online journals .. even though we managed to keep working out even during stressfilled days.
I tend to do much more yoga in my workouts now.. while continuously striving for more weight loss and better physical shape.
Rhonda is below her goal weight and doing well.
 will try to keep this updated monthly but not daily anylonger.

Thoughts for now...

 I've not updated other than our workouts in a while so here goes..
 
in a couple months it will have been a year since we started this serious working out nearly daily.
I feel I have come far.  I can work out now with out my day feeling shot anymore.. I have much more stamina and the workouts have become more fun.
 
I may not have lost large amount of weight but I have grown in muscle and toned up a good bit.
 
~ Rhonda has kept her weight at a fairly constant desired amount..  
I've not seemed to lost so much lately.. Been hovering at 240+ for some time.
 
We still don't plan to stop what we're doing.. but he have increased the intensity of our workouts last few months.
They may appear the same but we've gotten heavier free weights and added in doing things two to one of the DVDS.
( twice as fast)  * Whew *  Yeah it's like that sometimes.....
 
Oh ,  Wink I have many clothes that dont fit  anymore LOL

Havenot blogged here in a while need to.

WEll just to catch us up a bit....
Both wife and I have been fighting various sicknesses and injuries again.
sinus infections.. and a pulled shoulder on myself.
 
We are slowly getting back into the swing but we've not had a
weight gain or loss in a couple weeks.. have managed to maintain the wieghts we have ...
That is something I reckon.
 
Last two months or so.. I've brought myself up to speed more on the Yoga.
Rhonda has joined in on that...
 
The New Biggest Loser Show seems to be going at it much harder than last seasons...
I'm glad of that.  Last season was too full of changes and drama to suit me.

Hello all.. Lately,  I've not been keeping up very well with my workouts.
I have to injuries that have not healed. Wife has managed to also have pulled her shoulders, both of them.
so we have been missing many workouts last few weeks...
Hopefully, that will change soon.

FYI

Today we did a weigh in.. was curious where I stood as I've not been able to do my workouts as I was doing..
 
Well it seems I've lost another 6 lbs to be ==  249 now.  Yah me!
Rhonda lost one lbs and is now one under her goal == 124lbs.
I reckon all that pond work I been doing , shoveling gravel and doing the plants and such has really paid off for me.

Visit with my Doc.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my family Doc.  I had not seen him since I just before I began teh challenge.. Which he didn't approve of for me.
I took a print out of my Livespace page ... he was quite impressed with what I had done. I was very happy.
Their scale had me a 256 dressed. shoes and keys etc... I was tickled.
Even with the problems of my foot and shoulder I have been able to loose a pound or two by doing what I can and eating right.
Thanks TBL, my lovely wife, and others who have shown support.

well My crazy broken foot has finally gotten me to a near stop on working out.
Only going to be doing the spin cycle if that for some time... maybe some things i can do sitting......
sighs.  This sucks....
but on ward we go...
 
Wife is really Busting it lately.. many things we do I've not put in the exercise blog...
She walks at work at lunch.. often walking or jogging in the evenings.

Wow Rhonda - you will be at *my* goal weight before you know it! ;-)  And Larry - good job!  I bet you are both starting to feel better!  We're the same ages (I think we're older) - and getting rid of the junk is making a huge difference.  Keep up the good work!

Larry and Rhonda Taking the Challenge.

Contest rules

Why we are going to work our buns off..... We are Larry & Rhonda , a husband and wife couple team. We live in Newberry, S.C.
Larry is a 45 year old male 5'10" tall and weighs 286 pounds.
Larry would like to loose weight down to 225 . a individual loss of 35 by March and 61 pounds by Dec.
Rhonda is a 43 year old female 5'7" tall and weighs 135. Rhonda would like to loose a 15 pounds.
That team total goal loss would be 50 lbs by 3 March '08.
The reason We would like to participate in this is to improve our overall quality of life as we grow older. We feel this will allow us to have more energy, ability, and stamina to do the things we wish to do.
How we will strive to acheive our goals... Larry is disabled.. so there will have to be considerations to be factored in. However, With proper dedication, inspiration from the show and his lovely wife it should not be a problem.
He needs to increase in intensity of working out , walking evolving to running .. at home aerobic exercise, tai chi, and more
will be brought into the equation as he strives forward. Also need to look into what can be done nutritionally towards his goals.
Rhonda is fairly fit. She is trying to break the smoking habit and loose more weight,
tone-up/get in better shape is perhaps a better to describe Rhonda's situation.
She is heavy into Tae Bo, having been doing it for over a year..
She is wanting to exercise more frequently with more intensive workouts and nutritional work.. Rhonda is mostly to inspire and encourage me onward as a partner in our team. She is good at it too. laughs. Our before pictures Have been posted. Thanks for viewing our profile.
